VisitArchaeologists Unearth 13th-Century 'Vampire Children' in Poland
Sep 18, 2024, 03:46 AM
Archaeologists in Poland have discovered the remains of two children from the 13th century, buried with unusual 'anti-vampire' practices. The children were decapitated, and their heads were placed face-down in the graves with heavy stones laid on their torsos. These burial practices are believed to be part of medieval anti-demon rituals aimed at preventing the deceased, thought to be demonic entities, from exiting their graves. The excavation took place at the Palace of the Uniate Bishops.
