Apple Inc. has agreed to pay $95 million to settle a five-year-long class-action lawsuit alleging that its voice-activated Siri assistant violated users' privacy by inadvertently recording private conversations and sharing them with third parties, including advertisers. The settlement, which is pending court approval, could see affected users receive up to $20 per Siri-enabled device. The lawsuit accused Apple of surreptitiously activating Siri without users' consent and sharing the recordings.
