VisitApple Reaches Historic Three-Year Union Agreement with Maryland Retail Workers, Including 10% Raises
Jul 27, 2024, 03:17 AM
Apple has reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement with retail employees at its Towson, Maryland store, marking the first union contract for the tech giant's retail workers in the United States. The agreement, which is set to last three years, includes an average pay raise of 10%, a bump in starting pay for 80% of jobs, and limits on contracting and severance. Additionally, the contract contains provisions for improved scheduling, job security, work-life balance, fairness, and rules against arbitrary discipline while maintaining the status quo on benefits. This historic deal comes after workers at the store authorized a strike in May, following more than a year of negotiations with management.
