Apple has begun rolling out its new artificial intelligence features, termed 'Apple Intelligence,' across iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices with the release of iOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1. These features include updates to Siri, writing tools, and enhancements to Photos, Mail, and Messages, and mark Apple's entry into more advanced AI integration within their devices, shifting from basic content generation to more sophisticated function-calling and tool-use, including ChatGPT integration. While some users can access these features immediately, others may need to join a waitlist to gain access. Availability varies by region; Apple Intelligence is currently not available in the European Union and China, with full support in these markets expected in April 2025 when language support will expand to include Chinese, French, German, and other languages.
