Apple Agrees to Biden's AI Safeguards with 15 Other Firms

Apple has agreed to a set of voluntary safeguards for artificial intelligence (AI) crafted by the Biden administration. The initiative, initially launched in July 2023, aims to ensure responsible use of AI and includes commitments from 15 other major tech companies such as Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, Amazon, and Meta. The safeguards require companies to simulate attacks on AI models, a practice known as 'red teaming,' to identify and address potential flaws or vulnerabilities. Additionally, the initiative emphasizes fairness, security, and privacy in AI development. This agreement comes ahead of Apple's anticipated launch of its own AI product, Apple Intelligence.
