VisitAnthropic Launches Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Twice as Fast and One-Fifth the Cost of GPT-4o
Jun 20, 2024, 02:22 PM
Anthropic has launched its latest AI model, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, which it claims is its most intelligent model to date. The new model outperforms competitors, including OpenAI's GPT-4o and Google's models, on several key benchmarks. Claude 3.5 Sonnet is twice as fast as its predecessor, Claude 3 Opus, and costs one-fifth as much, with input tokens priced at $3 per million and output tokens at $15 per million. The model features a 200k token context window and is available for free on the web and the Claude iOS app. Claude 3.5 Sonnet also introduces a new feature called Artifacts, allowing users to generate and interact with various types of content, such as code snippets and text documents, within the same interface. This release is part of Anthropic's ongoing efforts to lead in the AI industry, with further models in the 3.5 family, including Claude 3.5 Haiku and Claude 3.5 Opus, expected later this year. The model has been tested by the UK AI Safety Institute and has shown significant improvements over Gemini 1.5 and ChatGPT in various tasks.
