Former Stanford University and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is returning to Stanford as the General Manager of the university's football program, a newly-created role announced by Athletic Director Bernard Muir on Saturday. Luck will oversee all aspects of the Cardinal football program, including staff management, recruiting, roster management, and athlete experience. He will work closely with head coach Troy Taylor on recruiting and roster management, as well as with the administration on fundraising efforts and more. Luck, who has been around the program frequently in recent years, will begin his role immediately. He is expected to discuss his new position on ESPN's College GameDay around 10:30 am EST.
