Jun 24, 2024, 12:00 AM
Amy Yang of South Korea secured her first major championship victory by winning the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. The 34-year-old golfer triumphed by three shots at the tree-lined, narrow Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington. Yang's win marks a significant milestone in her career, as it came on her 75th attempt at a major. Despite some late missteps, she managed to extend her lead from two shots entering the final round to a seven-shot lead, ultimately finishing with a three-shot victory. This long-awaited triumph also earned her a spot on the Olympic team for the Republic of Korea. In addition to the title, Yang and the field competed for a share of the $10.4 million prize money.
