Sep 18, 2024, 03:50 PM
Amazon is increasing the pay of its hourly warehouse workers by at least $1.50 an hour, bringing the average base wage to over $22 per hour. Depending on location, base wages now range from $18.50 to $29.50 per hour. Additionally, Amazon is adding free Prime memberships to the benefits package for its warehouse workers. This move comes after the company laid off 30,000 employees. The pay raise and benefits apply to workers in fulfillment and transportation operations. Warehouse workers will start receiving PrimeVideo subscription service as part of their compensation beginning early next year.
