Jul 4, 2024, 04:50 AM
Amazon will partner with the Australian government to create a top-secret cloud data system designed to handle the nation's most sensitive defence and security information. This initiative, valued at $2 billion, aims to enhance Australia's cyber capabilities and deepen security ties with the United States. The project involves the establishment of a high-security data center to store and analyze classified military and intelligence information. The Australian defence minister highlighted that this deal would increase interoperability with the US, to which Amazon's cloud division already provides services. The investment of $1.3 billion will span over 10 years and is expected to significantly bolster Australia's data protection and security measures.
