Amazon Acquires MX Player for $100 Million, Launches Amazon MX Player by Merging with miniTV

Amazon has officially announced that it has finalized its acquisition of Indian streaming rival MX Player. Financial terms of the deal haven't been officially disclosed, but local press reports estimate the amount at around $100 million, which is significantly less than what Times India previously paid for MX Player. Amazon is merging MX Player with its free streaming service Amazon miniTV to form a new service called Amazon MX Player. This strategic move aims to strengthen Amazon's presence in the Indian streaming market.
