VisitAllahabad HC Dismisses Muslim Side's Plea, Declares 18 Suits Maintainable in Krishna Janmabhoomi Case
Aug 1, 2024, 09:19 AM
The Allahabad High Court has dismissed the plea filed by the Muslim side challenging the maintainability of lawsuits initiated by Hindus in the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah dispute in Mathura. The court ruled that the cases are maintainable and rejected the argument based on the 1991 Places of Worship Act. The decision was pronounced by Justice Mayank Kumar Jain. The next hearing is scheduled for August 12. Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain expressed confidence in presenting strong arguments if the case proceeds to the Supreme Court. The ruling marks a significant victory for the Hindu side, which has been contesting the encroachment of the Shahi Idgah mosque on the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple site. The court declared the maintainability of all 18 suits filed by the Hindu side.
