Sep 12, 2024, 10:39 PM
The entire staff of Annapurna Interactive, the video-game publishing division of Megan Ellison’s Annapurna studio, has resigned following a dispute with its owner. The resignation of all 25 members occurred after failed negotiations to spin off the division as an independent entity. This exodus has left development partners scrambling to figure out the future of several titles. Annapurna Interactive, known for publishing acclaimed games such as 'Stray', 'Outer Wilds', and 'Kentucky Route Zero', is facing significant disruption. The president of Annapurna Interactive, Nathan Gary, also resigned in the fallout. Megan Ellison, who is Larry Ellison's daughter, was directly involved in the failed negotiations.
