Disney and 20th Century's 'Alien: Romulus' has achieved significant box office milestones, becoming the second highest-grossing movie in the Alien franchise and the highest-grossing horror movie of the year. The film grossed $2.41 million on Monday, $983,000 on Tuesday, $669,000 on Wednesday, $543,000 on Thursday, and an estimated $1 million on Friday, bringing its total domestic gross to $94.29 million. Over the 4-day weekend, it grossed $11.65 million, raising its total domestic gross to $97.20 million. Internationally, the film has grossed $217.2 million, contributing to a global total of $314.4 million. In China, it has grossed over ¥700 million ($98.75 million), making it the highest-grossing horror film in the history of the Chinese mainland box office. The film also grossed $13.7 million internationally this weekend and opened in its final international market, Japan, with $2.3 million. The film had a production budget of $80 million.
