Alec Baldwin Sues for Malicious Prosecution, Claims Prosecutors Made Him 'Scapegoat' in 'Rust' Shooting

Alec Baldwin has filed a civil lawsuit against New Mexico prosecutors and Santa Fe County officials, alleging malicious prosecution, civil rights violations, and defamation. The lawsuit follows the dismissal of involuntary manslaughter charges against him in July, six months after a judge cleared him in connection with the 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie 'Rust.' Baldwin contends that the prosecutors pursued him as a 'scapegoat' in the case.
