Prosecutors allege that Gautam and Sagar Adani were aware their renewable energy company was under investigation by U.S. authorities for suspected bribery when they sold part of India's largest solar park, which included bribe-linked assets, to France’s TotalEnergies. Legal documents reviewed by Reuters indicate that the Adanis knew of the U.S. probe at the time of the transaction. Adani CFO has defended against the U.S. charges, stating that the allegations are linked to a single business contract.
