VisitABBA and Universal Music Demand Trump Stop Using Their Music at Rallies, Issue Cease and Desist
Aug 29, 2024, 04:19 PM
Swedish pop group ABBA and Universal Music have demanded that U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump stop using their music at his campaign rallies. The band has expressed that Trump does not have permission or a license to play their songs at these events. Universal Music has issued a cease and desist letter to Trump's campaign, reinforcing the band's request. ABBA's music, including hits like 'The Winner Takes It All' and 'Money, Money, Money,' has been played at Trump's rallies without authorization, prompting the band and their record company to seek the removal of all related footage. The newspaper Svenska Dagbladet reported on the issue, and Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA stated that their record company ensures unauthorized use is addressed.
