VisitAaron Judge Leads Yankees to 6-2 Win Over Giants at Oracle Park with Two Home Runs
Jun 2, 2024, 02:10 AM
Aaron Judge's impressive performance continued as he hit two home runs in the New York Yankees' 6-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park. Judge, who grew up a Giants fan, was greeted by boos but responded by clobbering a three-run homer in the third inning and another home run later in the game, bringing his season total to 20. This performance capped off a spectacular May for Judge, where he hit .371 with 14 home runs and 27 RBIs. Judge also became the third player since 1906 with 25+ extra-base hits in a single month, joining Ty Cobb and Earl Webb. Additionally, Judge accumulated 90 total bases in May, the most by a Yankees player in a calendar month since 1985. The Yankees' win was further bolstered by a two-run homer from Giancarlo Stanton and strong baserunning that led to additional runs. The Giants managed to score on a sacrifice fly by Jorge Soler and an RBI double by Mike Yastrzemski, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Yankees' offensive onslaught.
