VisitAaron Judge Becomes First Player to Hit 40 Home Runs in 2024
Aug 3, 2024, 12:50 AM
Aaron Judge hit his 40th home run of the season, becoming the first player to reach this milestone in 2024. The home run, which traveled 477 feet at 117.5 mph, is the third longest of his career and the second longest in MLB this season. Judge joins Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Mickey Mantle as the only Yankees to have three seasons with 40 or more home runs. This achievement came during a game where the Yankees trailed the Blue Jays 3-2. Additionally, Judge now has 101 RBIs for the season and is on pace for 58 home runs. This milestone occurred on August 2, the 45th anniversary of Thurman Munson's passing.
