A powerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck Tibet's Shigatse city near the border with Nepal on Tuesday morning, causing at least 36 deaths and injuring 38 others, according to Chinese state media. The quake occurred at 9:05 a.m. Beijing Time at a depth of 10 kilometers, with its epicenter in Dingri County. It caused the collapse of over 1,000 buildings, and more than 1,500 rescue workers have been deployed to the affected areas. Tremors were felt across Nepal, India, Bhutan, and Bangladesh, including in Nepal's capital Kathmandu and parts of northern India such as Bihar, West Bengal, and Delhi-NCR.
