Visit7.1-Magnitude Quake Hits Tibet-Nepal Border; Tremors Felt in India, Bangladesh

A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 struck near the border of Tibet and Nepal on Tuesday morning, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). The quake occurred at 6:35 AM IST, with the epicenter located 93 km northeast of Lobuche, Nepal, near Dingri County in Shigatse City, Tibet Autonomous Region, at a shallow depth of 10 km. The China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) reported the earthquake as magnitude 6.8, while other Chinese sources reported it as magnitude 6.9. Tremors were felt across Nepal, including the capital Kathmandu, as well as in parts of India such as Delhi-NCR, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam, and in Bangladesh and Bhutan. The earthquake prompted residents to evacuate buildings, but there are no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
