Gou Zhongwen, former head of China’s General Administration of Sport and a member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, is under investigation for suspected serious violations of law and discipline. The investigation is being conducted by the CCP Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission. Gou, who is 67 years old, served as the director of the General Administration of Sports from 2016 to 2022 and was also once the president of the Chinese Olympic Committee. State media reported that this move is part of a broader crackdown on corruption in China, with the country’s top graft busters leading the investigation.
