Visit43 Rhesus Monkeys Escape Alpha Genesis Lab in Yemassee; Residents Told to Secure Doors

Authorities in Yemassee, South Carolina, are searching for approximately 43 rhesus macaque monkeys that escaped from the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Center, a bio-research lab located on Castle Hall Road, on Wednesday night. The Yemassee Police Department has strongly advised residents to secure their doors and windows and not to interact with the primates. Police are using traps and thermal imaging technology to locate the monkeys, but as of Thursday afternoon, none have been captured.
