Severe flash floods and landslides triggered by monsoon rains and cold lava flows from Mount Marapi have devastated parts of West Sumatra, Indonesia. The catastrophic events have resulted in at least 37 fatalities, including several children, and left 17 individuals missing. The floods and landslides have also led to the destruction of over 100 homes across the Agam and Tanah Datar districts, and caused a river to breach its banks. Rescue operations are currently underway as authorities continue to assess the damage and provide aid to affected residents.
