German authorities have arrested a 27-year-old Syrian national suspected of planning a machete attack on Bundeswehr soldiers in Bavaria. The suspect, who is believed to hold radical Islamist views, was detained in Hof. He had reportedly purchased two machetes and planned to attack soldiers during their lunch break at Upper Franconia Barracks. The Munich Public Prosecutor's office confirmed the arrest on Thursday and stated that the suspect was brought to court on Friday morning.
