Visit24-Kilometer Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link Opens in Greater Bay Area, Cutting Travel Time to 30 Minutes
Jun 30, 2024, 04:07 AM
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, a 24-kilometer cross-sea passage in China's Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, officially opened to traffic at 3:00 p.m. on June 30, 2024. This engineering marvel, which took seven years to complete, integrates bridges, islands, tunnels, and underwater interchanges, including a subsea tunnel with a total length of 6,845 meters. The link drastically reduces travel time between Shenzhen and Zhongshan from two hours to approximately 30 minutes. The project is a significant component of the Greater Bay Area's infrastructure plan, enhancing connectivity and economic integration in the region. Over 7,000 vehicles passed through the link in the first hour after its opening.
