Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a 23-year-old Israeli-American and American citizen, was found dead in Gaza after being held hostage by Hamas. Goldberg-Polin was kidnapped on October 7 from the Re'im Music Festival and severely injured by a grenade. His family confirmed his death after the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) recovered his body along with other hostages' bodies. The family had been actively advocating for his release, including speaking at the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
