The 2024 Kentucky Derby set new records in both betting and viewership. A total of $210.7 million was wagered on the event, up 10.1% YOY, surpassing the previous year's $188.7 million. This year's Derby, marking its 150th anniversary, also attracted the largest audience in 35 years, with a peak viewership of 20.1 million during the 7-7:15 p.m. ET window and an average Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 16.7 million viewers, up 13 percent from last year. The event achieved a household rating of 7.5 and a 27 share, the highest ever for the Derby on NBC.
