Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, has been identified as the gunman who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, about 40 miles from Crooks' hometown. The incident occurred on Saturday, with Crooks reportedly shooting from a rooftop near the rally venue. An AR-15 was recovered at the scene. Crooks was shot in the head by law enforcement and died on the spot. Trump sustained minor injuries to his head, while one rallygoer was killed and two others were critically wounded. The Secret Service is treating the incident as an assassination attempt, although no motive has been identified yet. The New York Post first reported Crooks' identity.
