An 18-year-old California teenager, Alan Filion, has pleaded guilty to making over 375 'swatting' calls across the United States. These calls, made from August 2022 to January 2024, included false reports of bomb threats and mass shootings targeting schools, religious institutions, and government officials, including a Sanford mosque. Filion, who operated under the handle 'Torswats,' admitted to the charges in Florida. He faces up to five years in prison for each count of making interstate threats.
