A 17-year-old suspect from Tracy has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall during an attempted robbery in Union Square, central San Francisco last Saturday. The suspect, who used a semiautomatic pistol, faces multiple charges including assault with a semi-automatic firearm, second-degree attempted robbery, and several gun charges. San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced the charges, which have been filed in juvenile court, during a news conference on Tuesday evening, but a decision is pending on whether to try the suspect as an adult. Pearsall is currently recovering at home from a gunshot wound to his chest.
