Visit14 Detained in Aurora After Armed Home Invasion, Kidnapping, and Stabbing at The Edge at Lowry Apartments Linked to Tren de Aragua
Dec 17, 2024, 06:49 PM
In Aurora, Colorado, police detained 14 individuals following a reported armed home invasion at The Edge at Lowry Apartments. The incident involved a kidnapping and a stabbing, with 13-15 armed individuals involved. The victims, believed to be Venezuelan immigrants, were threatened, bound, and moved to another apartment on the property. They were pistol-whipped, beaten, and one was stabbed, though the injury was not life-threatening. The victims lied to their captors, promising not to call the police, and after being released, they drove to a friend's house to contact authorities. Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain described the event as 'without question a gang incident,' suggesting a high probability of involvement by the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. Federal authorities are assisting in the investigation. The complex has been a focal point for crime, particularly since it was reportedly taken over by Tren de Aragua members.
