Visit14 Detained After Home Invasion and Torture at Aurora's Edge at Lowry Linked to Venezuelan Gang
Dec 17, 2024, 05:31 PM
In Aurora, Colorado, police detained 14 individuals following an armed home invasion and kidnapping at The Edge at Lowry Apartments. The incident, which occurred early Tuesday morning, involved a group of 13 to 15 suspects, mostly males with some females, who entered an apartment and kidnapped two migrant victims. The victims were moved to another apartment within the complex, where they were threatened, bound, pistol-whipped, and tortured. One victim was stabbed, and both are receiving treatment in the hospital for their injuries. Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain described the attack as 'without question a gang incident,' with a high assumption that the suspects, believed to be Venezuelan nationals, may be affiliated with the Tren de Aragua gang, a notorious Venezuelan gang. The complex has been previously reported to be taken over by this gang, leading to increased criminal activity in the area.
