Visit14 Detained After Home Invasion at Aurora's Edge at Lowry Apartments Linked to Tren de Aragua Gang
Dec 17, 2024, 05:16 PM
Police in Aurora, Colorado, detained 14 individuals following an armed home invasion at The Edge at Lowry Apartments. The incident, which occurred early Tuesday morning, involved 13-15 people, mostly males with some females, who kidnapped and assaulted two victims. The victims were moved to another apartment within the complex, where they were threatened and bound. One victim sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound. After being released by the suspects, the victims, who had promised not to tell, called 911 from a friend's home. Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain described the attack as 'without question a gang incident,' with a high assumption of involvement by the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. The victims, believed to be Venezuelan immigrants, were pistol-whipped, beaten, and mistreated, leading Chamberlain to categorize the ordeal as torture. Both victims are currently receiving treatment at a hospital. The complex has been a focal point of crime and safety concerns, previously highlighted by reports of Tren de Aragua gang activity.
