Stellantis Recalls 332,000 Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, and Jeep Vehicles Over Faulty Air Bags and Seat Belt Sensors
Jul 10, 2024, 01:47 PM
Stellantis is recalling 332,000 U.S. vehicles, including Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jeep, and Chrysler models, due to faulty front seat air bags and seat belt buckle sensors. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued an advisory stating that the airbag inflators in the recalled vehicles can explode, posing a serious risk of injury or death. Federal regulators confirmed that three people have been killed and two seriously injured by low-cost substandard replacement air bag inflators. The U.S. auto safety agency noted the severity of the issue. Owners of the affected vehicles will receive a notification letter next month, and dealers will replace the driver-side airbag module for free.
