Texas Offers 1,400 Acres Near Rio Grande for Trump’s Deportation Facilities
Nov 26, 2024, 03:56 PM
The Texas Land Commissioner, Dawn Buckingham, has offered 1,400 acres of state-owned land along the Texas-Mexico border near the Rio Grande to the incoming Trump administration for deportation facilities. This land, originally acquired in October for border wall construction, is now being repurposed to support the largest deportation operation in history. The initiative aligns with Trump's campaign promises to implement large-scale deportations and potentially declare a national emergency to achieve these goals. The land is part of the Jocelyn Initiative, named after 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was tragically murdered. The initiative aims to build deportation facilities targeting violent criminals. Groundbreaking for the border wall has already commenced on this land in Starr County.
