FBI: New Orleans Attacker Shamsud-Din Jabbar Acted Alone in Terrorist Attack, No Link to Las Vegas

The FBI announced that the attacker responsible for the deadly truck rampage in New Orleans acted alone in an act of terrorism. FBI Deputy Assistant Director Christopher Raia stated, "This was an act of terrorism. It was premeditated and an evil act." The attacker, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, claimed ties to ISIS and had planted two homemade bombs at the scene. He drove a pickup truck into a crowd of New Year's revelers on Bourbon Street on New Year's Day, killing 15 people. The FBI confirmed that there is "no definitive link" between the New Orleans attack and the Cybertruck explosion in Las Vegas. Investigators also revealed that Jabbar initially wanted to hurt his family and friends.
