Google Launches Gemini AI, Med-Gemini Excels in Medical Benchmarks

Google has introduced a new generative AI platform called Gemini, which includes a specialized version for medical applications named Med-Gemini. Med-Gemini is a family of multimodal models designed to enhance medical diagnostics and treatments by handling various types of data including medical images, surgical videos, genomics, health records, and ECGs. These models are part of Google's broader initiative to integrate advanced AI capabilities such as speech transcription, artwork generation, and medical reasoning into practical applications. Notably, Med-Gemini has outperformed other leading models like GPT-4 in medical-domain benchmarks, achieving state-of-the-art results in 10 out of 14 benchmarks.
