Six days of funeral observances for former U.S. President Jimmy Carter begin on Saturday in Georgia, following his death on December 29 at the age of 100. The procession will start in Americus, Georgia, with stops at Carter’s boyhood home in Plains and the Georgia State Capitol, where a moment of silence will be held at 3 p.m. with Governor Brian Kemp and state officials.
