Jun 23, 2024, 03:59 PM
China has successfully completed its first vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) test of a reusable carrier rocket at an altitude of 10 kilometers. The test, conducted on June 23 by SAST, took place at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China. The rocket is powered by three self-developed 70-tonne LOX/Methane engines, marking the highest altitude reached by any reusable VTOL test in China. Additionally, SAST completed a 12km VTVL test of a reusable rocket prototype powered by 3 methalox engines.
