Oct 3, 2024, 03:24 PM
A significant incident occurred near the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant in Kurchatov, Russia. Ukrainian forces reportedly attempted to attack the plant using four missiles and a French aerial bomb. Russian air defense systems intercepted the missiles, and the bomb fell approximately five kilometers from the plant, causing a fire. Additionally, a Ukrainian drone was suppressed by electronic warfare, resulting in explosions in an outbuilding unrelated to the nuclear facility. Russian authorities confirmed no excess radiation was detected, and the plant continues to operate normally. Governor Alexey Smirnov stated there was no damage to the plant. Emergency services are currently addressing the situation.
