Multiple Shark Attacks Injure Four on South Padre Island Today

Multiple shark attacks and sightings were reported today on South Padre Island, Texas, during Fourth of July celebrations. The U.S. Coast Guard has advised beachgoers to avoid entering the water. Game Warden Capt. Chris Dowdy stated that all four attacks occurred within two hours of each other. Four people were injured, including one woman who sustained significant injuries, having a chunk bitten out of her leg. Officials noted that shark encounters of this nature are uncommon in Texas.
