Pennsylvania Sees Significant GOP Surge with 36,507 New Registrations in Early Voting
Oct 28, 2024, 02:20 PM
Recent reports indicate a significant surge in early voting and voter registration among Republicans in Pennsylvania. Early votes in Pennsylvania are surpassing 2020’s numbers by as much as 300,000. Bucks County had to close in-person voting three hours early due to high turnout. In the last week, Republicans gained 36,507 new voter registrations compared to 19,744 for Democrats, marking the largest gain for the GOP in a single week. These registrations are backlogged. Republicans are winning new early voting requests at a 2:1 ratio. This shift is narrowing the Democrats' registration advantage, which had been over 1.3 million during Obama's presidency but is now below 300,000. This trend is expected to impact the upcoming elections, potentially boosting Trump and Dave McCormick in his Senate race. Monday and Tuesday, the final days of early voting, are expected to see huge turnout.
