Netanyahu Offers $5 Million Reward for 101 Hostages, Vows to End Hamas Rule in Gaza
Nov 19, 2024, 07:34 PM
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a $5 million reward, up from the previous offer of 1 million NIS, and safe passage out of Gaza for anyone who provides information leading to the release of the 101 remaining hostages held by Hamas. Netanyahu made the announcement during a visit to the Netzarim Corridor in Gaza, accompanied by Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief-of-Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi, and Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar. He vowed that Hamas would no longer govern Gaza, stating, "Whoever brings us a hostage will find a safe way for them and their family to leave." The increased reward aims to encourage Gazans to assist in locating and freeing the hostages.
