India Conducts First Submarine Test of 3,500 km Range K-4 Missile
Nov 28, 2024, 06:35 AM
India has successfully conducted the first test of its nuclear-capable K-4 submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) from the INS Arighaat, a newly inducted nuclear-powered submarine. The K-4 missile, with a strike range of 3,500 kilometers, enhances India's nuclear deterrence and second-strike capability. The test was carried out yesterday by the Indian Navy and the Strategic Forces Command, signaling a significant boost to India's nuclear armament and the sea leg of its nuclear triad. Defence expert Col. Shailendra Singh remarked that the test sends a clear strategic message, showcasing India's ability to strike targets up to 3,500 kilometers away.
