Derrick Henry Sets Ravens' Single-Season TD Record with 16th Score on Christmas Day, Ravens Lead 10-0
Dec 25, 2024, 09:56 PM
Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens set a new franchise record for single-season touchdowns with his 16th score of the season during the team's game against the Houston Texans on Christmas Day. Henry's record-breaking touchdown came on a 2-yard run during the Ravens' opening drive, which covered 75 yards in eight plays. This touchdown not only broke the record previously held by Ray Rice and Mark Ingram but also ended Henry's four-game touchdown drought. The Ravens took an early 7-0 lead over the Texans, with Henry contributing significantly to the team's offensive efforts, rushing for 86 yards on 10 carries by the end of the first quarter. Lamar Jackson also played a key role in the opening drive, running for 25 yards and completing a 27-yard pass to Zay Flowers. The Ravens extended their lead to 10-0 with a 52-yard field goal by Justin Tucker at the 10:08 mark of the first quarter.
