VisitTwitter Rebrands to 'X', Redirects All URLs to X.com After 17-Year Era
May 17, 2024, 10:11 AM
Twitter has officially rebranded to 'X', with all URLs now redirecting to the new domain, X.com. This change marks the end of Twitter's 17-year era as the social media platform transitions to its new identity. Users are being notified of the change through a banner on the web browser. Despite the rebranding, many users continue to refer to the platform as Twitter. Elon Musk confirmed that all core systems have migrated to the X domain. The rebranding includes a permanent redirect (301) from the old domain to X.com, while some temporary redirects (302) are also in place. Users are shown a popup during the transition, which went live early Friday morning.
