Whistleblower Prompts Comer to Subpoena DHS Over Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Walz's Alleged CCP Ties
Sep 30, 2024, 08:16 PM
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has issued a subpoena to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for documents related to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz's alleged connections to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). According to whistleblower disclosures, Department of Homeland Security employees discussed serious concerns about Walz's ties to China in an internal Microsoft Teams group chat. The allegations include claims that U.S. intelligence has uncovered verified links between Walz and the CCP. Comer is seeking intelligence reports, documents, and communications pertaining to these connections. Walz, who has visited China over 30 times and was a fellow at Macau Polytechnic University—an institution associated with the CCP—is currently a vice presidential candidate. The subpoena comes ahead of a debate between Walz and J.D. Vance.
