Caitlyn Jenner Promotes $Jenner Cryptocurrency, Hits $25M Market Cap Amid Controversy
May 27, 2024, 01:22 AM
Caitlyn Jenner, a former Olympic gold medalist and transgender rights activist, has been promoting a new cryptocurrency called $Jenner to her 15.6 million Instagram followers and 3.3 million followers on X. The token, launched on the platform pumpdotfun, quickly reached a market cap of $25 million in 9.5 hours. Initial concerns about Jenner's account being hacked were dispelled by her manager, Sophia Hutchins, who confirmed that the promotion was legitimate and no hacking had occurred. However, it was later revealed that Jenner's team was socially engineered by a developer named Sahil, who has a history of fraudulent activities, including a previous rug-pull involving NBA player Dwight Howard. Despite the controversy, the $Jenner token has already seen over $100 million in trading volume.
