Florida Couple Arrested for Faking $1M Lottery Ticket
Apr 22, 2024, 02:24 AM
A Florida couple has been arrested and is facing felony charges for allegedly attempting to claim a $1 million lottery prize by submitting a fraudulent scratch-off ticket. The ticket, identified as a '500 Times The Cash' ticket, was discovered to be two tickets crudely taped together. This alteration was evident due to mismatched words and differing serial numbers on the back of the ticket, which were immediate red flags to lottery officials. The incident occurred when the couple presented the ticket at the Florida Lottery Office in Pensacola.
